Frequently Asked Questions

Home
  • What time do flights run?

Plaza Flights can be scheduled between 6:00pm and 10:00pm nightly beginning the evening of the Plaza Lighting Ceremony (November 22rd, 2007) and the last flight will be the evening of January 13th, 2008.

  • Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Yes! Gift certificates can be ordered for your friends, family members, or even as a raffle for a company or chuch party. We will print and send you the gift certificate and all the recipient has to do is call to schedule their Plaza Flight. Click here to order a gift certificate now!

  • How far in advance should we schedule our flight?

With the growing popularity of Plaza Flights and the limited number of days and hours to provide them we highly recommend that you schedule a flight as soon as possible. Consider at least a week ahead of time, especially if you desire a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening.

  • How many people can come on the flight at one time?

The plane seats 4 people in total. One seat is obviously for the pilot and a minimum of 2 additional passengers is required, with the option of adding a 3rd passenger as long as the weights and balances check-out properly.

Weight Limitation Example: A common scenario would be 2 "full-sized" passengers (180lbs each), and if there were a 3rd passenger they would need to weigh 100 lbs. or less.

  • How long does the flight last?

You and your friends will enjoy a flying experience that will last approximately 30 minutes... 40 minutes if departing from Gardner.

  • What will we see?

Most folks rave about the beautiful view from the night's sky over the Country Club Plaza of Kansas City. When you arrive over the Plaza area you'll circle around it a few times providing a fantastic view and experience for all onboard.

  • What if the weather is bad?

Weather conditions are taken very seriously. If the pilot-in-command determines that current weather conditions will greatly delay or cancel your originally scheduled flight, we will reschedule your plaza flight.

  • Which airports can I depart from?

We have arranged for Plaza Flights to depart from "Downtown Wheeler Airport" and "Gardner Municipal Airport".

  • What time do we need to arrive at the airport?

You should arrive at the airport no later than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled flight departure.

  • What should we wear?

Airplanes do have heaters in them although some folks claim that they aren't as effective as they would like. So, dress in comfortable and warm clothes.

  • How much does it cost?

The cost is $79.00 per person.

  • When and how do we pay?

After submitting your reservation you will be contacted within 24 hours to confirm your flight reservation and provide payment using Mastercard or Visa.

  • Can I cancel or reschedule my reservation?

    KcPlazaFlights.com has a 48 hours policy.

Cancellation: Notice of cancellations must be received at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure time in order to receive a refund.

NO REFUNDS will be offered for cancellations received with less than 48 hours notice.

Rescheduling: A reschedule request must be received at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure time in order for it to be considered.

We understand that many people are scheduling dinner reservations and other events that need to coordinate with your flight. We will give it our very best efforts to accomodate a desired change, but with the popularity of these flights can't guarantee availability.

  • Can we take photos and videos?

You are welcome to bring cameras and video recorders.

Video recorders produce the best results during night flight. Still photo cameras don't usually do a very good job at night while we are moving at 110kts, pictures commonly come out blurry.

The camera flash does nothing for pictures at night being so far away from the subject, although they do a great job of blinding the pilot and passengers temporarily. :-)

    Please, NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY.

  • Will I get sick?

If we had to bet on someone getting sick we would say "NO WAY". Night flights most commonly provide a very smooth ride. The winds are usually calm and temperature cool, perfect for a comfortable evening in the sky.

  • Who is KC Plaza Flights?

KC Plaza Flights is a centralized Plaza Flight reservation request system for the Kansas City area. We have done all the research around the KC Metro of flight providers that have agreed to provide a great flight experience. We do not directly provide the flight experience, we leave that to the pilots.
